AI Video Company Alethio Launches Baby Face Service in South Korea

AI Video & Visuals

Lowered barriers in South Korea have led to the introduction of various artificial intelligence (AI) services, sparking the interest of telecom giants and startups. Alethio, an AI video company, has recently unveiled its Baby Face service. This unique service utilizes AI technology to provide previews of a fetus’ face 50 days after birth. By analyzing stereoscopic ultrasound pictures of a fetus older than 25 weeks, the AI generates clear images and videos of what the baby’s face could potentially look like after birth. This is particularly useful as the fetus is often obstructed by the placenta and umbilical cord.

With more than 5,000 user reviews, Baby Face has gained significant popularity among newlyweds through word-of-mouth recommendations. Alethio’s entry into the market highlights the growing demand for innovative AI services in South Korea.

In addition to the healthcare sector, AI is also making waves in the travel industry. MyRealTrip has recently introduced an AI travel planning service powered by OpenAI’s ChatGPT. This chatbot recommends travel destinations, routes, and restaurants based on user preferences, providing information on the cheapest airfares and popular travel products.

Major telecom companies are also exploring AI applications. KT Corp., the country’s second-largest telecom provider, plans to launch an AI parenting counseling service featuring celebrity psychiatrist Oh Eun-young. This service will utilize Mi:dm, a hyperscale AI currently under development by KT, to converse with and offer advice to parents.

Meanwhile, SK Telecom Co., the leading telecom provider, has unveiled AI technology that analyzes the CO2 emissions of public transportation and private cars by region. The company aims to commercialize this technology in collaboration with local government units. SK Telecom has also introduced X Caliber, an AI diagnostic system for dogs that analyzes X-rays in just 15 seconds.

LG Uplus Corp., the third-largest telecom player, is exploring opportunities in the entertainment industry by applying AI to the sports platform Sporki. This integration aims to predict game scores, enhancing the overall sports-watching experience.

The growing popularity of AI services in South Korea highlights the immense potential for innovation and utilization of AI technology across various sectors.
