ISLAMABAD: A three-day teacher training program on “Empowering Educators: Integrating AI into Educational Practice” was held at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU).
Faculty and students from 37 universities across the country participated. The workshop was organized by AIOU in collaboration with the Asian Federation Educational Media Center (CEMCA) as part of the university's professional development programme.
In addition to Pakistan, resource persons from the US, UK, Sri Lanka, New Delhi, and Ireland shared their insights on the use of artificial intelligence in teaching and research processes through various sessions.
AIOU Vice-Chancellor Professor Nasir Mahmood presided over the closing ceremony. Dr. Nasir said artificial intelligence has become extremely essential in all aspects of life, including education and learning.
Since faculty development is a top priority for AIOU, it plans to conduct more workshops to train teachers and staff on artificial intelligence. CEMCA Director Bashir Ahmed, speaking online from New Delhi, India, acknowledged the important role of AIOU in creating skilled workforce for Pakistan.
