AI Skills prepare staff to become part of a small business

AI For Business

Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said in a message she shares with employees on Tuesday (June 17) that employees who have learned how to use AI (AI) can become part of Amazon in the future.

Jassy added that Amazon's total corporate workforce is likely to shrink over the next few years as the company employs AI.

“People who embrace this change, become familiar with AI, build and improve AI capabilities internally, and provide them to their customers will be able to reach their customers, be impactful and help them reinvent the company,” Jassy said in his message.

Jassy suggested that employees be interested in AI, educate them about it, use it wherever possible, and take part in a team brainstorming session on how to use technology to do more.

Amazon deploys AI to ALEXA+ personal assistants, AI shopping assistants, shopping capabilities, independent seller services, advertising tools, coding tools and throughout internal operations, Jassy said.

Still, “We're the first,” Jassy said, adding that Amazon expects AI agents to change the way people live and work, and that the technology will play an important role in the company's efforts to “act like the world's biggest startup.”

Amazon currently has over 1,000 generative AI services and applications ongoing and is hoping to build more than that, Jassy said.

“As we deploy more generative AI and agents, we should change the way we work,” Jassy said in a message to our employees. “There will be fewer people doing some of the jobs that are being done today, and more people doing other types of work. It's hard to know exactly where this will go online over time, but we expect this will reduce the total workforce of companies in the coming years as it will provide greater efficiency through widespread use of AI.”

“Workers have found that 54% of workers say that fears that Genai, which employs employment, is exaggerated, is being exaggerated, and that generative AI poses a “significant risk of widespread job movement” and 38% say that technology could ultimately lead to the elimination of certain jobs.

In May 2024, it was reported that tech workers were in a hurry to add AI capabilities to their resumes as they were trying to relocate themselves as AI companies.
