As big tech companies press for safety rules and laws around AI, lobbying records reveal that those in power continue to wrestle with legal guardrails in statehouses across the country. One of the biggest AI lobbyists is an industry group called TechNet. The group claims it has “involved 808 bills across all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico, winning policy positions 87% of the time.” Reported by Chris Glorioso of NBC New York.
