AI is reshaping seed investing: Business Insider’s 2026 Seed 100

AI For Business

Finding young companies that are ready to make a big splash is not easy.

That’s why Business Insider creates the Seed 100 list every year, honoring the top 100 early-stage investors, venture capitalists whose bets have measurably paid off.

Now in its sixth year, this list highlights how seed investing is changing. Small checks are giving way to multi-million dollar investments as hot AI startups take the scene by storm. The total value of the seed round could be more than $1 billion.

In addition to the Seed 100, Business Insider also publishes the Seed 40, which focuses specifically on successful female investors.

Both lists include investors who made at least five active investments between 2011 and 2026, resulting in companies going public, being acquired, and/or receiving follow-on funding rounds.

This list is compiled using data analytics provided by Termina, a software platform spun out of Tribe Capital.

So who are this year’s 100 and 40 seeds? Join senior correspondents Ben Bergman and Melia Russell in this live Q&A to find out.

Mr. Bergman and Mr. Russell will also interview two prominent investors on the list. In these conversations, we dig into the investments each of us has made and the companies we’re eyeing next.
