BENDIGO musicians have embraced the artificial intelligence wave with technology that creates music videos for tracks from their current albums.
Song by Shan Lyons produced under the stage name Mystic Park silver lining The work from the current album of the same title was shot in Bendigo and Castlemaine and AI-edited by Dave Hansen.
Lyons said he sees the work as a different kind of art and plans future projects that differ from the atmosphere of this Space Country.
“It has theatrical elements and visuals and all sorts of other stuff, because there’s a whole universe of things around you like space and aliens. I think,” he said.
“This is an art type thing that incorporates various art elements, just like AI video.
“If you go to a gallery and see something, it may be there for a little while and then disappear. That is what I want to recreate.
“We will continue to do Mystic Park, but it will probably be a few years before it reaches a new evolution and is released.”
But don’t get me wrong, Lyons will be taking a musical hiatus for the time being. He said he currently has a band called Releys and a group working on a three-piece punk project due to record in October.
The Lyons draw inspiration from artists such as John Coltrane, Wu-Tang Clan, and The Dirty Three, and their favorite song on the current album is ice wall It is due to the spontaneously created method.
“I wrote the second half of the song on the spot,” he said. “That’s what really made that song and really made the record.
“I think it was one of the moments I miss so much.”
Mystic Park are currently on tour, playing with a full band that played at Handlebars in Bendigo last Saturday, at the Taproom at Castlemaine on July 16th and Golden Vine at Bendigo on August 19th.・Several performances are scheduled, including at a hotel.
