AI company Runway, which helped develop Stable Diffusion, an AI image generator, released its first mobile app on Monday to give consumers access to its video-to-video generated AI model, Gen-1. .
This software is currently only available for iOS devices.
What does Runway AI do?
Users will be able to record videos from their mobile phones and create AI videos in minutes using the new software. Movies already in your library can be modified with text prompts, images, or style presets.
Users can choose from presets provided by Runway, such as “Cloudscape,” or modify the video to look like clay work, charcoal sketches, watercolors, origami, or other types of art. You can also enter text in the text box or upload an image.
The app generates 4 previews for the user to choose from. Once you’ve decided on your preferences, it takes a few minutes to create the finished product.
Of course, like any AI generator, the output can be distorted or look weird. The ideas of AI video creators can seem silly or outlandish. However, as technology advances and improves over time, users may find value in it. For example, content creators can enrich their social media posts.
How much does RunwayAi cost?
Runway’s new mobile app is available in two paid plans: Standard ($143.99/year) and Pro ($344.91/year). With the basic plan, you’ll receive 625 credits per month, along with other premium services like 1080p video, unlimited projects, and more. The Pro package includes all of Runway’s 30+ AI tools plus 2,250 credits per month.
When will we have access to Runway Gen-2?
Runway announced and started selling the Gen-2 model one month after the Gen-1 debuted in February. Gen-2, a text-to-video generator, is probably an improvement over the text-to-image models Stable Diffusion and DALL-E, as it allows users to create videos from scratch.
According to Valenzuela, Runway is gradually starting to offer access to the closed beta for Gen-2.
Gen-2 will soon be available for other AI features in Runway (such as image-to-image generators), replacing the Gen-1 model the app currently supports.
