As artificial intelligence booms, the power of AI hype is spilling over from the tech world into Silicon Valley's housing market.

There is also a growing demand for luxury homes here that are well-designed and have great attention to detail.

Rebecca Chen from Yahoo Finance joins us.

Hi, Rebecca.

Hey Brad.

Luxury housing has been doing very well in Silicon Valley lately.

Data shows an 80% increase in the number of luxury homes sold in Silicon Valley, where luxury homes are defined as homes priced above $5 million.

Also, when I spoke to local real estate agents, I was told that luxury properties are often sold within seven days or with no conditions attached.

So we wondered why this trend is happening, and why all of a sudden, one of the market analysts we spoke to said it was because of the AI boom.

We all know that there is an AI boom going on right now and there are a lot of stocks on the NASDAQ that are rising in price.

And Silicon Valley workers are doing so well that it gives them the confidence and the money to buy expensive real estate.

So, you know, this is not something new in Silicon Valley, and we've seen a lot of booms and busts in the past in this region given the trends in technology.

And a lot of times, real estate trends tend to follow what happened in the 2000s or the 1990s, so 1995-2000.

When the internet boomed, house prices also rose.

And also, between 2014 and 2020, social media companies like Facebook and Instagram did really well.

Meanwhile, house prices have risen again.

So this time, we believe the AI boom is giving new impetus to Silicon Valley's luxury goods market.

Well, people are talking about how well AI has done so far, and from the looks of it, it will continue to do pretty well in the future.

Well, many people in the region are confident about the real estate market, and as the young people say, artificial intelligence is revitalizing the luxury housing market.

Ultimately, we'll see what happens and what the price will be accordingly.

Thank you so much for your detailed explanation, Rebecca.
