Accenture has acquired Amazon Web Services (AWS) partner Nextira for an undisclosed amount.
This is technology M&A deal number 170 covered so far in 2023 by MSSP Alert and sister site MSSP Alert.
Accenture was founded in 1989 and is based in Dublin, Ireland. The company has 552,867 employees and is registered on LinkedIn. Accenture’s areas of expertise include artificial intelligence, cloud computing and security.
Founded in 2008, Nextira is based in Austin, Texas. The company has 73 employees and he is on LinkedIn. Nextira’s areas of expertise include AI, cloud computing, and machine learning.
Nextira Team Joins Accenture’s AWS Business Group
According to a prepared statement, Nextira employees will help Accenture’s AWS business group drive “enterprise-wide transformation with speed and scale” for its customers. It also supports the Accenture Cloud First business group focused on helping organizations create value with cloud, data and AI.
Accenture Cloud First Global Lead Karthik Narain commented on the company’s acquisition of Nextira and what it means for customers.
“We combine Nextira’s AI, machine learning, data and analytics capabilities with Accenture’s approach of using a modern data platform on the cloud. It provides the actionable insights and predictive results you need to deliver transformative customer and employee experiences and drive the next wave of product and market growth.”
Additionally, Nextira CEO Jason Cutler shared his thoughts on the acquisition and the opportunities it presents for the company’s customers.

Accenture Invests in Zero Trust Cybersecurity Company
The acquisition of Nextira comes after Accenture announced in May 2023 a strategic investment in SpiderOak, which specializes in zero-trust cybersecurity solutions for next-generation space systems. Accenture has not disclosed the amount of its investment in SpiderOak.
With the investment, Accenture and SpiderOak are working together to develop solutions to secure communications in space, said Paul Thomas, Accenture’s space innovation lead for technology innovation.
Accenture provides professional services to global organizations. The company, which employs 738,000 people worldwide, indicated in May 2023 that it would lay off 549 employees at one of its Austin locations from June.
MSPs, MSSPs and other technology providers can join Accenture’s partner ecosystem. To date, Accenture has established partnerships with over 350 vendors.
