Acceed launches edge AI platform for industrial applications

Applications of AI

The Nuvo-10000GC marks the transition from traditional PLC and industrial PC architectures to more modular, AI-enabled systems in line with Industry 5.0 principles. The platform is intended to process both real-time control tasks and data-intensive workloads such as machine learning and advanced analytics directly at the edge.

Despite its compact design, the Nuvo-10000GC offers a level of scalability typically associated with larger 4U industrial PCs. The system supports up to seven PCIe or PCI expansion slots, allowing organizations to continue using existing I/O, communications, vision, or motion control cards while significantly reducing space and power requirements.

This system is powered by a 12th, 13th, or 14th generation Intel Core processor based on Alder Lake architecture and supports CPUs up to Core i9. According to Acceed, this provides significant performance improvements compared to previous industrial platforms. The Q670 chipset enables high-speed connectivity such as NVMe storage and solid-state drives capable of server-class data transfer speeds.

The key feature of Nuvo-10000GC is that it supports a dedicated graphics processing unit with up to 115W power consumption housed within a fanless chassis. Heat is dissipated through solid cooling fins and thermal conductors, allowing quiet operation while improving reliability in demanding industrial environments.

With local support for GPU acceleration, the platform enables AI-driven image processing, deep learning inference, and predictive maintenance to be performed onsite rather than in the cloud. This allows critical analytics to be performed in real-time even in the absence of network connectivity, reducing latency and bandwidth usage and increasing resiliency. According to Acceed, the system is suitable for applications such as visual inspection, autonomous mobile robots, and industrial IoT gateways.

The Nuvo‑10000GC is designed for use in harsh environments where safety is critical. Compliant with the EN 50155 standard for shock and vibration resistance in railway and vehicle applications and EN 45545‑2 fire protection requirements. Connectivity is provided through nine Gigabit Ethernet ports using M12X connectors, ensuring a secure and vibration-resistant network.

Compared to traditional 4U industrial computers, this platform offers a smaller footprint while maintaining scalability. Acceed says this reduces system complexity, and the fanless design reduces maintenance requirements and improves operational reliability. For edge AI and machine vision use cases, on-site GPU processing speeds up production workflows and also helps reduce error rates.

All Nuvo‑10000GC configurations are now available through industrial computing distributor Acceed.
