HYDERABAD: Zen Technologies has unveiled a new proprietary platform that it describes as the country’s first fully integrated AI-powered counter-drone system aimed at countering evolving aviation threats. The Hyderabad-based company said the new modular platform can operate in vehicle-mounted, human-portable and fixed configurations, combining both soft-kill and hard-kill options to deal with adversarial drones, including low-cost first-person drones and the coordinated swarm attacks increasingly seen in modern conflicts.According to Zen Technologies, the system covers wideband from 70 MHz to 12 GHz, enabling detection and jamming across multiple drone communication channels. It can detect threats at a range of over 15km and track over 100 drones simultaneously. Its multi-layered neutralization architecture includes RF jamming, GNSS jamming and spoofing, integration with remotely controlled weapons stations using 12.7 mm and 7.62 mm guns, air defense artillery, and suicide interceptors.According to the company, the platform is also equipped with a domestically produced high-sensitivity radar with a maximum range of 20 km to detect small drones with a small radar cross section. At its core is a data fusion and command center that integrates sensor inputs and uses AI-based algorithms to classify, track and respond to threats, said Ashok Atluri, chairman and managing director of Zen Technologies. He said recent battlefield developments show that drone warfare is reshaping military operations and countries that fail to adapt remain at risk. He said the system will be developed under the IDDM framework with full intellectual property ownership and will strengthen India’s drive for national defense independence.
