‘I don’t hate Americans’: Latest Lego video fosters empathy between Americans and Iranians

The creative team behind many viral sensations featuring Lego characters and storytelling criticizing the war against Iran launched by the US-Israeli military two months ago posted a new video on Saturday aimed at building solidarity between everyday Iranians and Americans suffering from the conflict and desperate for an end to the fighting.

“Iran’s AI Lego team has released another video,” said Trita Parsi, executive vice president of the Institute for Responsible States, a Washington, D.C., think tank that focuses on U.S. foreign policy. “The music, lyrics, and imagery are all designed to appeal to disillusioned Americans.”

In the video, which features dramatic scenes of everyday life in both Iran and the United States in the shadow of war, Parsi said the producers are “focused on building bridges between Americans and Iranians while portraying the U.S. government and ‘regime’ as the true enemy.”

Touching on shared empathy among people and the American political system that insulates powerful people like President Donald Trump and members of Congress from the will of voters, the song’s chorus states, “The same sun rises, but we live in hell, while our leaders ring the bell.”

“Love for the people, but the system must stop,” the chorus continues, followed by “From Tehran to Washington, D.C., we cry for peace.”

The music video argues that the lack of peace is not a reflection of what the American people want, but instead comes from the country’s leaders, who are motivated by profit, wealth, and geopolitical power.

Your politicians are puppets, strings pulled by their desires.
Selling weapons to anyone without regard to necessity.
They sit in their ivory towers and have no contact at all.
Bombs make billions while the world suffers so much.
They point the finger at us. c
we are all an axis of evil
While they are funding the worst violence in the history of the world.

Although the footage depicts Iranians languishing in grocery stores and frightened by bombs dropped on cities by the United States and Israel, the message from the Iranian production team behind the video is that Iranians will not blame American citizens for their government’s misdeeds.

That’s not you, America. They are the ones who will guide you.
Please listen to my heart…

I don’t hate Americans who live in fear, but
To working class people trying to make a living
Students protesting and marching in the streets,
we are the same, j
we are trying to survive,
Just trying to keep our culture and family alive.

I see you standing up for justice and fighting against systems of hate.
It is your corrupt politicians who decide our fate.
I convey my love to all the people of the land.
You are victims of the same machine that hurts us the most.

So I wrote this song to fill this gap.
Throw away your weapons and swallow your pride.
No new missiles or tactical attacks are needed.
We need to talk about what the future holds.

My purpose is peace. Let’s stop hostilities.
Let’s finally let the eagle and the lion sit at the banquet table.
Straight from the Persian Gulf to the American coast.
Let’s end war in our generation.
Place the gun in the dirt. Let the healing begin
Because if you keep shooting, no one will win.

The song concludes that “peace” is not for the “leaders” who wage war, but for the “innocent souls” injured by war and the “next generation” of future generations.

Saturday’s new video builds on an earlier video released earlier in the week by focusing on appealing to Americans who oppose war and have been harmed by it, rather than simply mocking Trump or condemning Israeli aggression.

An earlier video released by Drop Site News on Thursday cited the “1953 CIA-backed coup against Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh,” “mentioned the human cost of sanctions,” and “draws parallels between Iranian and American workers,” all in an effort to break through potential barriers to understanding between U.S. civilians and those living under the ravages of war in Iran.

“They want us to hate, they want glass walls,” the song says. “But we are both victims of the ruling class.”
