Media mogul Sanjiv Narain on Saturday addressed the issue of AI-generated viral videos in a press conference, saying the disturbing clip featuring Marmita Mitra was fabricated using artificial intelligence.
He said the content was uploaded by a social media page called “Assamese Memes” and announced a reward for anyone who could help identify the person responsible for creating the video. Narain also confirmed that a formal complaint has already been filed against the culprits at the Cyber Police Station.
He clarified that while some people are claiming to have brought Marmita Mitra to Assam, the allegations are completely false and aimed at tarnishing his reputation. Narain said he met Marmita Mitra last year.
Narain further said that Marmita Mitra is younger than his daughter and he respects her like a member of his family. “She calls my daughter her sister and treats me like a father,” he said.
He also claimed that a group was deliberately trying to smear him on social media. He warned that such behavior will not be tolerated and legal action will be taken against those involved. He added that several people have already been identified.
Narain said he also spoke to Marmita Mitra’s husband regarding the recent issue where Marmita allegedly distorted Zubeen Garg’s songs. He said that it is not appropriate to distort Zubeen Garg’s songs and he should apologize for it.
