Brooke, almost 40% of Americans say they’ve made a purchase they wouldn’t have made otherwise thanks to AI tools powered by Gen Z and Millennials. Throw in my Gen-X persona in there, too. I bought a lot of things that I probably wouldn’t have bought otherwise.

In fact, it’s insane to think about the prevalence of these AI agents, especially among young people. It’s the new Google search. So, you are interested in these chatbots and looking for ideas to spark inspiration. We talked about this a lot during the holiday season. And what this Visa report is really pointing out now is, is this really becoming a reality? 88% said they were also willing to provide pricing and inventory data. They are even trying to figure out what exactly is needed. They also say they will fully allow shopping here. But keep in mind that this is also the younger generation they are referring to.

Oh, Jared, you have to take that. I mean, I don’t know if my mom would jump at letting me spend as much as I wanted. This is where we’re going and this is where I’m going to get this. But what’s interesting when you look at what we’re seeing on the screen here, and this is something we talked about a lot during the holiday season, is there’s a lot of price comparisons, and probably product comparisons in these chatbots as well.

Now, one of the lines I’m reading here is that most companies are willing to let their AI agents negotiate directly with other AI agents, and they’re all already optimizing their products and offers for them. So this is, “Okay, let me have my bot talk to your bot, and then this was a human-to-human thing, but I have to think that I might be able to save more time this way.”

And what does this mean for productivity? Will it enable companies to do more with less? Just last week, we heard from Challenger Gray and Christmas that the number of AI-related layoffs is increasing. So when you point out that statistic, which I wish I had known earlier, is that 53% would allow an AI agent to negotiate. So what happens to all the salespeople? What will happen to that intermediary?

Yeah, and good people always have work to do because it always requires high-pressure situations. I think people are needed there. Um, but yeah, for the basics, I think we’re going to outsource almost everything to AI, not just shopping.

I mean, I still love a good experiential shopping trip. So I don’t know almost everything.
