Beyond the theoretical, you’ll also learn practical applications such as structured prompts for AI Large-Scale Learning Models (LLM), using guardrails to prevent hallucinations, and workshop business models.
For example, consider a module on managing innovation with AI. Many of us feel that LLMs are prone to errors and illusions and may be reluctant to consult them for work. Some people may end up going in the opposite direction by relying too much without testing.
In this module, you will not only structure your business idea with the help of AI, but also use the “8 Block System” to effectively encourage your ideas and ensure you get the results closest to what you have in mind. They are also taught to check facts against sources and iterate and refine their output, rather than blindly accepting sources.
This was very helpful in my public relations work. My team is currently using this approach to use AI to brainstorm ideas, gather information, and create brand guidelines and website landing page mockups, but ultimately ensure that our work is thoroughly checked by humans.

Looking back on this journey, one might think that pursuing an autonomous university’s branded master’s degree would be more valuable than a short SkillsFuture course. In the latter case, it is often unclear what the trainer’s qualifications are and whether their certifications will be recognized by potential employers.
Fortunately, I was able to get sponsorship from my employer, but tuition fees are still a concern for some of my coursemates. An additional S$4,000 in SkillsFuture credits for mid-career workers announced in Budget 2024 helped cover almost one semester’s worth of tuition fees. As a result, some were disappointed that no additional funding was announced in this year’s budget.
