German Labor Minister Hubertus Heil said he believes artificial intelligence will eventually create more jobs than it kills, while also helping alleviate the country’s labor shortage.
“According to everything we know and can observe, our society will not run out of jobs in the future,” Heil told German newspaper Tagesspiegel. He also said he doesn’t support banning chatbots like Chat-GPT, but added that people need to understand the data on which AI tools are trained.
“This not only prevents conspiracy theories, but it also prevents the system from producing undesirable results,” Heil said.
