Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang tells staff to use AI for every task and promises AI won’t take their jobs away

At Nvidia, using AI is no longer an option. CEO Jensen Huang has directed employees to incorporate artificial intelligence into everything they do, from coding to product development, arguing that artificial intelligence is an empowering tool, not a threat. His message was simple and direct. Don’t fear AI, use it to your advantage. During an internal meeting, Huang reacted strongly to claims that some managers asked their teams to reduce their use of AI. “My understanding is that there are executives at Nvidia who are telling their employees to use less AI. Are you sane?” he said, according to Business Insider. “I want to automate every possible task with artificial intelligence. I promise you, you will have work to do,” he added.

Huang encouraged Nvidia engineers to make more use of AI-powered coding tools like Cursor to work faster and more efficiently. And if the tool doesn’t work as expected, his advice is to persist. “Use it until it happens. Jump in and help us improve it, because we have the power to do it,” he reportedly said.

AI-first workplace

Huang’s comments come as major tech companies push employees to integrate AI more deeply into their daily work. Both Google and Microsoft have said that about 30% of their new code is already generated by AI, and Meta and Microsoft also plan to evaluate their employees on some aspects of how they use AI tools. Amazon is taking a similar approach. According to Reuters, the company recently advised employees to stop using third-party coding assistants and switch to its own in-house AI tool, Kiro.

But this shift to widespread automation has created anxiety among workers who worry about being replaced. Amazon announced earlier this month that it would cut about 14,000 roles within the company as part of a major reorganization aimed at simplifying operations and expanding the use of AI. There are reports that the total number may eventually reach 30,000.

Despite these concerns, Huang remains steadfast in his belief that AI will enhance human work, rather than obliterate it.

AI will not eliminate jobs: Mr. Huang

Huang has repeatedly said that AI will change jobs, not eliminate them. Speaking at the Milken Institute conference in May 2025, he said, “You won’t lose your job to AI, but you will lose your job to someone using AI.”

He reportedly reiterated this point in a company meeting last week, assuring employees that the company’s heavy investment in automation would create more opportunity, not less. He said NVIDIA hired thousands of people last quarter, increasing its workforce from 29,600 at the end of fiscal 2024 to 36,000 by the end of fiscal 2025.

“Frankly, I think we’re probably still about 10,000 people short,” Huang told staff, explaining that NVIDIA’s hiring rate has to match how quickly it can integrate and train new employees.

For Huang, AI is the driver of Nvidia’s continued growth and the key to its advantage in the chip industry. His message to employees was clear. Companies that embrace AI will prosper, while those that ignore it will be left behind.
