Vertiv launches CoolCenter Immersion for next-generation AI and HPC cooling

AI News

Immersion cooling immerses the entire server in a dielectric liquid to remove heat efficiently and uniformly across all components when power density and heat loads exceed the limits of traditional air cooling methods.

Vertive, The global leader in critical digital infrastructure today announced the Vertiv™ CoolCenter Immersion cooling system, expanding its global liquid cooling portfolio to support AI and high performance computing (HPC) environments that can take full advantage of the superior thermal properties of liquid cooling. The system is currently available in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

Immersion cooling immerses the entire server in a dielectric liquid to remove heat efficiently and uniformly across all components when power density and heat loads exceed the limits of traditional air cooling methods. Vertiv CoolCenter Immersion functions as a complete liquid cooling architecture, enabling reliable heat removal for high-density computing from 25 kW to 240 kW per system.

“Immersion cooling is playing an increasingly important role as the introduction of AI and HPC pushes thermal limits far beyond what traditional systems can handle. At Vertiv CoolCenter Immersion, we apply decades of liquid cooling expertise to deliver a fully engineered system that safely and efficiently handles extreme heat densities, giving operators a practical path to scale their AI infrastructure without compromising reliability or serviceability.”

Sam Bainborough, Vice President, Vertiv EMEA Thermal Business

Vertiv CoolCenter Immersion is available in multiple configurations with cooling capacities from 25 kW to 240 kW, including self-contained and multi-tank options. Each system includes an internal or external liquid tank, coolant distribution unit (CDU), temperature sensor, variable speed pump, and fluid piping for precise temperature control and consistent thermal performance. Dual power supplies and redundant pumps provide high cooling availability, while integrated monitoring sensors, a 9-inch touchscreen, and Building Management System (BMS) connectivity simplify operations and system visibility. The system’s design also allows for opportunities for heat reuse, supporting more efficient thermal management strategies throughout the facility and aligning with broader energy efficiency goals.

Vertiv™ Liquid Cooling Services provides end-to-end expertise from system design and installation to maintenance, training, and lifecycle optimization to help you evaluate and implement the most effective liquid cooling architecture. Supported systems include rear-door heat exchangers, direct-to-chip liquid cooling, and immersion cooling to enable reliable, scalable, and efficient thermal management for AI, HPC, and other high-density computing environments.
