The current revolution in artificial intelligence (AI) is abandoning huge amounts of real-time data, thus abandoning the ability to analyze almost instantly what is happening. Humanity, the creator of Claude AI, publishes regular economic index reports that track the use of its tools. As a market leader, Claude is probably a great agent for trends across AI. The latest report shows how AI is used in over 150 countries. The US controls India, 7.2%, Brazil, Japan and Korea 3.7% ahead of all Claude use.
The UK accounts for 3.2%. Humanity also ranks countries by use related to working-age populations. Israel is the top and Singapore. The US is sixth and the UK is 12th. The way Claude is used is also very different. In higher countries, workers deploy Claude to “enhance” existing skills and become more productive. In countries with less use, automating routine tasks such as coding is more typical and is more likely to lead to unemployment. If these trends continue, the “AI division” will spread between richer and more developed countries and other countries. Given the growth rate of AI, this was undoubtedly far more important to jobs than previous versions of digital disparity, and in itself was a key source of increasing economic inequality.
