How does an AI model generate video?
It was a huge year for video production. For the past nine months, Openai has released SORA, Google Deepmind has launched VEO 3, and video startup runways have launched Gen-4. Everything can produce video clips that are (almost) impossible to distinguish from actual filmed footage or CGI animations.
The downside is that creators compete with AI Slops, and their social media feeds are filled with fake news footage. Video generation also uses a huge amount of energy many times more than text or image generation.
