Thakur criticized the Congress for not issuing an apology despite repeated cases of abuse directed at Prime Minister Modi and his mother during a rally in Bihar.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Assembly (MP) Anurag Thakur criticized Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Saturday for artificial intelligence (AI)-generated videos.
Speaking to a Pune reporter, Thakur said the opposition has surpassed all decency limits. “Mothers hold the best place in everyone's life. However, Congress and RJD have been very low and have chosen to humiliate the late Prime Minister's mother forged. Should I go down to this level of politics?” he asked.
Thakur also criticized the Congress for not issuing an apology despite repeated cases of abuse directed at Prime Minister Modi and his mother during a rally in Bihar. “The Congress has not only failed to apologise, but has continued to make mistakes. The people of Bihar will never forgive them and will give a suitable response in future elections,” he said.
The remarks came during the interaction with the media at Pune Walkathon 2025, hosted by BJP leader Medha Kulkarni.
A controversy erupts after the AI-generated video, showing that Prime Minister Modi is being blamed for his late mother. The incident follows another line from the parliament-led “Voters Adakal Yatra” in Darbanga. There, an unidentified individual is caught on camera casting abuse of the prime minister and his mother.
The BJP is strongly opposed to video. Previously, MP Dinesh Sharma denounced the Congress by resorting to “disparaged tactics” to undermine the Prime Minister's image, adding that the party has “disappeared mental balance.”
