Google Labs is committed to AI film production.
Google announced Wednesday that it is causing filmmakers to reside in order to use AI toolflow. Digital artist Henry Doublez will work with the Flow team to help Google move forward with AI film production.
“We believe that the best tools are built together with the people who use them,” Google said in the announcement. “That's why filmmaker and creative director Henry Doveles is welcomed by the Google Labs team. As a new filmmaker's residence, Henry will continue to help shape the AI filmmaking tool, Future of Flow.
In May 2025, Google rolled out Flow as it announced a partnership with filmmaker Darren Aronofsky's AI-driven studio venture Primial Soup. At the time, the studio was preparing to launch a short film, “Ancestra.”
“When I entered the digital industry 20 years ago, I secretly wanted to find a way to film,” Doubles said in X. It's also a way of celebrating a younger version of myself, excited to step into this new world.
Daubrez uses AI services to create the short film “Electric Pink” and has already developed the content alongside Google Flow. He is currently working on The Enchanted Door, a flow project that allows users to interact directly with stories as they unfold.
