President Trump continued that trend on Thursday, this time getting involved in Washington, D.C.’s latest beautification project, the Reflecting Pool renovation. Earlier in the day, the president gave reporters a full seven-minute rant about pools, again showing off a chart comparing the length of pools to the heights of three of the world’s tallest buildings.
The pool seemed to still be on the president’s mind later that day, when he posted an AI-generated video of him standing next to a pool and holding a hose to pour water into it. The base of the hose is connected to a diver-style glass helmet worn by a woman who appears to be a depiction of a popular meme from President Trump’s first inauguration. A 2017 video shows a woman wearing the same green jacket seen in Trump’s post kneeling and screaming in pain during Trump’s swearing-in.
President Trump’s Thursday post also shows a woman who appeared in the inauguration video on her knees crying uncontrollably. As she silently screams, the helmet fills with water and the president grins. President Trump smiled and looked over his shoulder at the woman, then turned back to the camera.
