California aquariums collapsed, killing 50 people. No, that's not true. Its size and novelty disaster is a global news article, and there is no record of such events in news publications in and out of California. The Instagram account that posted the video consists of streams of tsunamis, earthquakes, and crashes of military planes, and the collapse of another crafted aquarium in Germany.

The story appeared on the Instagram reel (archives here) on August 4, 2025. Posted using hashtags asking for 14 traffic on your Cricket_di_diwani account. Read captions on screen:

Such videos feature generative artificial intelligence videos written by AI observers such as the blog “Narrow to General AI.” From tunnels to disaster scenes, this is the perfect footage that can't be achieved with hypnotism and smooth editing and difficult settings.

Cricket_di_diwani No disasters mentioned on your Instagram account occurred. For example, “the tsunami in California… thousands of people died” never happened. As the lead story was reported in uncovering other fake videos about the July 2025 tsunami produced by the offshore earthquake off the coast of Russia, the waves that hit California were described as “subtle” and there were no deaths caused by them.

Lead Stories searched Google News indexes on thousands of news websites, but reports (archives) of the California aquarium collapse discovered nothing, let alone killing 50 people. Similarly, Yahoo! Partner's News Site and News Service's News Index showed fact-based zero reports on the fatal California aquarium collapse (archived here).
