A $40 million Series A polled to convert video security with AI

AI Video & Visuals

Lumana, a leader in AI-based video security solutions, raised $40 million in a Series A funding round led by Wing Venture Capital, raising its total funding to $64 million. The funding will strengthen our video intelligence platform and accelerate our market initiatives.

Lumana's platform utilizes Vision Language Model (VLM) and Agent AI to convert cameras into real-time surveillance systems and provide aggressive insights from video feeds. This technology allows organizations to maximize the value of their existing infrastructure, especially in the face of lack of staffing and safety concerns.

The platform analyzes over 1 billion images every day for behavior-based event detection, provides centralized management of thousands of cameras, and provides intelligent alerts tailored to specific actions and objects. Recent upgrades include AI agents for security tasks, advanced incident alerts, customizable dashboards, and investigation tools with over 100 search attributes.

Since its launch in April 2024, Lumana has gained traction in retail, healthcare and manufacturing, serving clients such as McDonald's, Meta, Minnesota Twins Baseball Club and New York University.

“Managing video security across stores was complex and fragmented. With over 200 cameras from various manufacturers, having one centralized system gave us unprecedented visibility and insights. At Lumana, we can track our customers' traffic and dwell time and optimise staff and service while ensuring cash room by supplementing our cake equipment by ingesting safe equipment and sensitive doors. We gave us the peace of mind that we are protecting both our customers and our business.”
