New Delhi: Around 88 countries including the US, UK, China, EU member states and several international organizations endorsed the AI ​​Impact Summit Declaration on the occasion of the conclusion of the 2026 India AI Impact Summit in Delhi.

The five-day event brought together the largest gathering of top AI CEOs and heads of state to endorse a shared vision for the governance and development of artificial intelligence.

“We, participants from countries and international organizations, gathered in New Delhi on February 19, 2026 to host the AI ​​Impact Summit. The emergence of AI marks a turning point in the trajectory of technological evolution. The choices we make today will shape the AI-enabled world that future generations will inherit,” the declaration reads.

The declaration is structured around seven key pillars that form the foundation for global AI cooperation, including the democratization of AI resources, economic growth and social welfare, safe and trusted AI, AI for science, access for social empowerment, human capital development, and resilient, efficient and innovative AI systems, the statement said.

This declaration promotes affordable access to fundamental AI resources, including support for regionally relevant innovation ecosystems. We also envision a platform that scales and replicates AI use cases globally and enables cross-country collaboration to influence development. Additionally, it supports the development of safe and reliable AI systems and AI skills, reskilling, and literacy efforts to prepare the nation for an AI-driven economy.

“The widespread adoption of AI and AI-based applications has unprecedented potential to foster economic and social development. Where appropriate, the widespread adoption of open source AI applications and other accessible AI approaches, and AI use cases can contribute to the scalability, replicability, and adaptability of AI systems across sectors,” the statement reads.
