New innovations in Adobe Premiere and After Effects enable video professionals to perform tasks that previously took an prohibitive amount of time. For example, with new masking capabilities, rotoscoping can now be performed in seconds.

A major new release of After Effects brings new creative possibilities to motion designers and visual storytellers, including:
- Native 3D parametric mesh: New features for designing and customizing 3D shapes using parametric meshes and combinable shapes and New spot and parallel shadows enhance assets such as stylized graphics and photorealistic set pieces.
- 1,300+ free Substance 3D materials: Access thousands of new assets and animatable properties to apply materials to native and imported meshes to create stunning motion graphics with enhanced realism and creative control.
- Variable font animation: The addition to the Text Animator system provides full support for keyframes, expressions, and flexible control over titles and templates to add exciting and eye-catching dynamics to your videos.
- Enhanced vector workflow: A tool that imports SVG as a native shape layer and preserves editable gradients and transparency from Illustrator, allowing designers to start animations in full vector fidelity and have more precise control over fills and strokes.
Adobe advances the future of culture-shaping storytelling
These updates expand the capabilities across Adobe’s creative tools that are fundamental to the work of Sundance filmmakers. According to Sundance Institute’s annual survey, 85% of participants in 2026 used Adobe Creative Cloud applications such as Premiere, Frame.io, After Effects, Photoshop, and Substance 3D Collection to bring their stories to life. Premieres that debuted at Sundance include Chasing Summer, The Wicker, The AI Doc: Or How I Became an Apocalypse, Union County, Zi, The Moment, and The Britney Greiner Story.
Adobe adds nearly $10 million to Film & TV Fund to support underrepresented creators
To jump-start the careers of aspiring video professionals and creators from underserved communities, Adobe is committing $10 million in donations and project contributions in 2026 through the Adobe Film & TV Fund. This new investment builds on the $10 million Adobe has already committed since launching the fund at Sundance in 2024, bringing the total amount of contributions and donated products over three years to $20 million. The fund provides grants, professional video tools, career development, fellowships, apprenticeships, and training opportunities to the creative community, including participants in the Gold House, Rideback Rise, and Sundance Ignite programs. Adobe will continue to invest in key industry partnerships to elevate the films made by these artists at Sundance and beyond, providing a platform and opportunity for career-defining moments.
Adobe is also introducing Ignite Day in partnership with Sundance Institute. Aimed at budding creators between the ages of 18 and 25, Ignite Day combines hands-on learning, mentorship, and creative interaction for young storytellers to connect, experiment, and gain real-world insights as they explore paths to bring their ideas to life.
