As reported by Business Standard, the chatbot's core understanding includes “Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in a New Era.”
3. NASA and IBM Research Develop New AI Models to Study Weather and Climate
NASA and IBM Research have created a new AI model called the Prithvi-weather-climate foundational model that will power several weather and climate applications. NASA said, “The Prithvi-weather-climate model is trained on a broad dataset of NASA data from the Modern Research Applications Retrospective Analysis (MERRA-2).” The model will help experts prepare for, respond to, and mitigate potential risks, according to a NASA blog post.
4. OpenAI partners with the Financial Times to train AI models
Microsoft-backed AI startup OpenAI has partnered with the Financial Times to develop and train AI models. The collaboration will enable ChatGPT to provide more factual and accurate information. WSJ reported that “the deal could be worth more than $250 million over five years, including compensation in the form of cash and credits for the use of OpenAI technology.” Additionally, OpenAI will use content from News Corp's consumer news publications, including archives, to answer user questions and train its technology.
5. Elon Musk says AI puts jobs at risk
Elon Musk has said that AI will eliminate all jobs but maintains that it is not a “bad development.” “Probably nobody will lose their job,” Musk said in a recent interview, adding, “If you want to do something that's like a hobby, make it a job. But if not, AI and robots will provide you with the goods and services you want.” However, he stressed that regulators are still analyzing the responsible use of the technology, according to an ANI report.
