YouTube is set to begin testing the new ageing system in the US on Wednesday, August 13th. The system uses artificial intelligence (AI) to determine the age of a user based on the content they are watching.
The verification system only works if the user is logged in to the account. The moment a user signs in, the system will begin determining their age, regardless of the date of birth you enter while signing up.
Initially, this test only affects a small number of YouTube audiences in the US. If the pilot stage proves successful, the system will be deployed properly and affect a large audience.
Age check
If a newly launched system is tagged to users as minor, YouTube will impose normal restrictions to prevent minor users from watching adults or inappropriate content.
Additional protections include privacy warnings, video recommendation restrictions, and reminders for breaks from excessive screen use.
However, in the case of fake flags, you can correct the mistake by showing your government-issued identification card, selfie, or credit card on YouTube.

When it comes to age verification checks, political pressures have been enriched on websites and social media platforms, implementing robust systems to protect children from online abuse.
In June, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld Texas law that prevented minors from watching porn online.
Given the pressure, streaming giants such as YouTube have stepped up their efforts to protect minors from the dark side of their content.
