YouTube has integrated new AI-powered features to help users around the world overcome language barriers. Google’s video sharing platform hopes to make it easier for users to dub videos into other languages with the help of AI. The company made the announcement at VidCon, an event held in the United States.

In an interview with The Verge, YouTube’s Amjad Hanif said YouTube is already testing the tool with “hundreds” of creators. Hanif also said that Aloud currently supports “several” languages. More languages will be added to this tool in the coming days. Our audio dubbing tool currently only supports English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Even with a limited number of languages, audio output can be an important tool for creators. This tool will help when more creators are able to add multilingual dubbing to their videos.
In the coming days, YouTube is “working to make the translated audio tracks sound like the creator’s voice, more expressive and lip-syncable,” Hanif added. The company reportedly plans to add these features in 2024.
