YouTube has no plans to suppress AI content. In fact, it's even more possible to upload and view artificially created videos using the dedicated VEO 3 integration in YouTube shorts.
VEO 3 is the latest version of Google's AI video model, and it could only prove that the videos generated by AI are a few millimeters away from organically produced content. Examples of videos are everywhere and are really wild.
As Google tends to do, new integrations between the two products are working. The company announced that it will develop a special location for VEO 3 content via YouTube shorts. It is unclear what this integration will look like, and whether it will be limited to shorts or popular across larger works.
In any case, Google wants to make it easier for users to create AI-generated content using VEO 3, no matter how its content is built into YouTube.
This raises many questions in a variety of categories, including copyright and monetization. Can users monetize content created using Google's own video generation tool? How is the content monitored and does it meet local guidelines?
This change could be an update to an existing VEO model for background creation.
We believe these tools will open up new creative lanes for everyone to explore. But even more exciting than what you see on screen is that AI is helping creatives behind the scenes.
Language, for example, is one of the biggest barriers to increasing global audiences. Our auto-dubbing feature already translates videos into nine different languages, one more. It also dramatically increases the potential audience that creators and brands can reach.
As Google plans to complete the integration of VEO 3 and YouTube Shorts “late this summer,” there will be plenty to unpack in that small announcement, but it appears to be clear soon.
