Called Aloud, the AI-powered dubbing tool currently supports English, Portuguese and Spanish, but Google plans to add more languages, including Hindi.

YouTube has added a new feature to help creators dub their videos in unfamiliar languages. At his VidCon 2023 on Thursday, he announced that the online video sharing platform will use Aloud, a product of Google’s internal Area 120 incubator.
Last year, Google announced Aloud, an AI-powered dubbing product that can automatically transcribe a video and create a dubbed version of it. It also gives you the option to review and edit the transcription before generating the dub. Until now, if content creators wanted to create videos in another language, they had to rely on third-party apps and providers.
Here is a video dubbed with Aloud. To change the audio track, click the gear icon, tap the audio track, and select the language you want to hear the video in.

Aloud is currently available in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, with plans to add additional languages such as Hindi and Indonesian in the near future.
Hundreds of creators have started testing the tool, and it will soon be available to everyone, according to Amjad Hanif, YouTube’s vice president of creator products. Hanif also added that in the future, generative AI will allow him to add features like voice preservation, lip re-animation, and emotion transfer to Aloud.
Last week, YouTube began rolling out a “1080p premium” option for select Android and Google TV users and announced new partner program guidelines for content creators.
