Companies are speeding up the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and putting workers at a dangerous crossroads every day.
Workers want strong protections to stop the unsafe and unethical use of AI before it's too late.
That's why state legislators across the country have been working on guardrails that protect workers' jobs, safety and civil liberties and prevent discrimination and theft of people's jobs in all 50 states.
However, the “large” budget adjustment bill that could be passed by the US Senate this week includes provisions that prohibit the creation or enforcement of all current or future state and local AI safety rules for the next decade.
Think about how much AI usage has exploded and changed over the past 10 months. And imagine what the world will look like in ten years without strong protection.
Workers need AI safety regulations to stop the use of AI anti-workers in their work and in our lives.
Workers face a future in which AI systems decide whether to get jobs, control workloads, and even determine the quality of healthcare.
If passed, this AI safety ban will be a massive federal overreach, especially when Washington, D.C. lawmakers have already failed to protect families working with AI safety guardrails.
Call the senator and tell them to remove this dangerous clause from your budget bill and stop trying to weaken AI safety rules.
