Xero, a provider of accounting software for small and medium-sized businesses, has signed a multi-year agreement to link its platform with Anthropic’s Claude AI.
The partnership will add Claude’s AI capabilities to the Xero platform while giving Claude.ai access to Xero’s financial data and capabilities.

Xero said the partnership aims to give small businesses and their accounting and bookkeeping advisors instant access to critical financial data and the ability to act on it from either platform.
Diya Jolly, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Xero said: “Every day, millions of small business owners ask the same questions: Why am I cash-strapped this month? Which bills are past due? Can I afford to hire?”
“To run their businesses efficiently, small business owners and their accountants and bookkeepers need to be able to answer and act on these questions in real-time, whether they use Xero or Claude. This partnership delivers.”
The company described this as the first time that Xero customers were able to directly manipulate their accounting records within a major AI platform.
For Claude, this integration is aimed at supporting end-to-end financial workflows for small businesses at scale.
This collaboration is expected to reduce manual tasks such as following up on unpaid invoices and editing cash flow views across multiple reports, with Claude highlighting relevant information and recommended actions.
Key features of the integration include Claude-driven automation within Xero and Xero-derived insights and actions available in Claude.ai.
Within Xero, users will be able to use Claude to run financial processes from start to finish across areas such as accounting, payroll and payments.
Within Claude.ai, customers can leverage Xero’s financial data and insights for detailed analysis and planning with controls designed to keep their information safe.

Xero Insights powered by Claude and the integration of Xero Experiences into Claude.ai will be introduced in the coming months. Xero’s engineering team uses Claude and Cowork to speed up product development.
