X to suspend creators who failed to properly label AI-generated war content

Creators who post artificial intelligence-generated videos of armed conflict without clear disclosure will be penalized under the new X Policy, which aims to prevent manipulation and misinformation.

Nikita Via, head of product at X, announced a revised version of X’s creator revenue sharing policy in a post on Tuesday.

“During wartime, it’s important that people have access to authentic information on the ground. With today’s AI technology, it’s easy to create content that misleads people,” Bier wrote.

Beer said users who post AI-generated videos of armed conflict will have to add a disclosure that they were created using AI. Failure to add disclosures will result in a 90-day suspension from creator revenue sharing on the platform.

Future violations will result in permanent suspension of the program.

Beer said X will be flagged if a post contains a community note, or if the content includes metadata (or other signals) from a generative AI tool.

“We will continue to refine our policies and products so Company X can rely on us during these critical moments,” Beer said.
