Indian tech powerhouse Wipro (NSE: WIPRO) has launched Wipro ai360, a comprehensive AI-centric innovation ecosystem, following the lead of leading companies around the world. The launch builds on Wipro’s history of substantial investments in AI and aims to embed artificial intelligence into every platform, tool and solution used both internally and in customer-facing products. With this groundbreaking introduction, Wipro has pledged to invest a whopping $1 billion in enhancing its AI capabilities over the next three years.
Fueled by massive investments, Wipro ai360 is poised to usher in a new era characterized by high value, productivity and profitable opportunities thanks to AI and its generative forms.
Thierry Delaporte, CEO and Managing Director of Wipro Limited, said his company’s goal is to empower its people and introduce AI into all operations, processes and client solutions.
With responsible AI at its core, Wipro ai360 combines the expertise of 30,000 Wipro data analytics and AI experts with a technology and advisory ecosystem across four global business lines. We harness our cloud and partnerships, data, analytics and AI, design and consulting, cybersecurity and engineering skills to create new solutions and weave AI into all our operations and practices. Wipro’s new global business line model is designed to drive unprecedented agility, speed and depth of delivery.
Additionally, Wipro’s innovation hub, Lab45, will become an integral component of the Wipro ai360 ecosystem, providing clients with the talent, training, scale, research and co-innovation capabilities needed to accelerate AI adoption.
The $1 billion investment will help further strengthen Wipro’s AI, data and analytics foundation, R&D and platform, strengthen the FullStride Cloud and foster new consulting capabilities. These enable clients to adapt to change and take advantage of new value through AI.
Wipro will also step up its investment in ground-breaking startups through Wipro Ventures. The company announced his GenAI Seed Accelerator program, which will provide enterprise-ready training to a select group of startups focused on generative AI.
In pursuit of its goals, Wipro has pledged to train all 250,000 employees on the fundamentals of AI and its responsible use within the next year, and for employees in AI-specific roles: is committed to providing more role-specific and ongoing training.
Wipro will build AI-centric curricula tailored for different roles, ultimately culminating in employee credentials via its Decentralized Identity and Credential Exchange (DICE) identity platform. In addition, the company will coordinate hackathons and challenges on his Topcoder, a talent cloud platform, for continuous employee upskilling.
The announcement follows many other technology companies, such as Lenovo, pledging $1 billion to accelerate the adoption of generative AI across enterprise functions.
