Will Smith has been accused of using AI to generate images of fans in a new video of his tour.
The rapper and actor are currently supporting his first studio album, “Based on Story Story,” which came out in March, in 20 years.
Prior to the UK leg, Smith went to Instagram to share highlights and videos of previous tours. The clip shows a crowd packed with gigs, with fans cheering and cheering for the rapper as they walk along the barricade. Smith wrote in the caption:
However, the clip has been criticized by people who say that AI is used to generate some of the fan's images.
In some shots, many people cry, with some of their faces blurred and distorted, while others appear to have strangely shaped hands and extra fingers.
Another shot shows a man holding a sign that reads, “'You can make it' helped to survive cancer.” However, his knuckles appear to be blurry by the sign.
Meanwhile, the woman in front of him appears to be holding his hand, but the woman's headband behind her also joins her wrist.

A Reddit user responded to the video, one wrote “pale,” while another added:
It is during the music industry's AI technology controversy. A recent survey shares a harsh warning that people who work in music are likely to lose a quarter of their income to artificial intelligence over the next four years.
Deezer also reported that around 10,000 AI-generated tracks are submitted to the platform every day. It accounts for around 10% of all music uploads, and songs generated by AI reportedly have been uploaded to the profile of the dead musician on Spotify.
Meanwhile, Elton John, Coldplay, Doa Lipa, Paul McCartney, Florence Welch, Kate Bush and Robbie Williams are among those who have called on the UK government this year to change copyright law amidst the threat from AI.
