White House explains virus video of objects thrown through windows

The video posted online of a black bag strung from the windows of the two-storey White House on Monday “probably generated AI,” President Trump told reporters when he asked reporters Tuesday.

Trump added that such videos are not authentic as the White House “can't open the windows.” “They are all very armored and bullet-bearing,” he said.

Trump's comments on the virus video came hours after White House officials gave time a statement indicating that the video's content was realistic and that AA contractors were doing “regular maintenance.”

The video was originally posted on an Instagram account called “Washington Prob,” and spread widely on social media, prompting jokes about White House security protocols and speculations about what was thrown away. It shows a person wearing white pants stepping into the second floor windowsill of the White House, throwing what appears to be a black plastic bag. Later, someone throws something long white outside the window. The second floor of the White House is the place where the president's private residence is.

“It was the contractors who were doing regular maintenance while the president was gone,” a White House official said in a statement in response to questions about the images.

President Trump spent Sunday and a worker's holiday on Monday at a golf club in Sterling, Virginia.

Trump's comments on the authenticity of the video came during an event in the oval office questioned by a reporter after the US Space Command announced it was relocating from Colorado to Alabama.
