The Steve Jobs Archive has released a fascinating video of a 28-year-old Jobs explaining the computer to a skeptical crowd in 1983.

The Steve Jobs Archive was founded in 2022 by Laurene Powell Jobs, Tim Cook and Jony Ive. From the start, it has aimed to be “the authoritative home of Steve's story” and includes video, audio and text resources about the Apple co-founder.
Now released is “The Objects of Our Life,” an extremely rare 55-minute video from 1983 that features a young Steve Jobs giving one of his first major speeches. As Jony Ive notes in his introduction, this was from Apple's early days, but Jobs predicted the future he would later help create.

“I am astonished by his deep understanding of the dramatic changes that would occur as computers became more ubiquitous,” Ive wrote. “Of course, he was more than a prophet; he played a key role in defining products that would forever change our culture and our lives.”
In addition to Ive's introduction, this Steve Jobs Archive feature contains much more of the speech from the 1983 International Design Conference in Aspen: 55 minutes of the main video, more than 2,000 words of background information, and a series of more rare clips, including Jobs demonstrating the Lisa on the eve of his talk and mentioning artificial intelligence decades before the Apple Intelligence was born.
