Vimeo has announced a series of browser-based tools powered by artificial intelligence (AI). It claims to be powerful enough for anyone to easily and simply record and publish efficient videos.

The company says its tool is “the first AI-powered video creation suite of its kind” and has a wide range of uses, including quickly creating highlight reels, hosting virtual events, and easily creating and exporting quote clips. It is said that it can correspond to For short videos such as Instagram reels or his TikTok.

“[Vimeo’s] With AI tools, anyone can record a video in one shot and edit it in seconds. Generate scripts from text prompts, record your screen with the built-in teleprompter, and instantly remove unwanted content like filler words (uh, uh) and long sentences. Pause,” Vimeo says.

“Vimeo plans to further expand our AI strategy by enabling seamless integration of a wide range of AI tools and capabilities into our platform in the future.”

According to the company, the new suite will allow users to create fully produced videos in “minutes” thanks to three key features.

The first is Vimeo’s AI-powered script generator. It can create video scripts in “seconds” using generative AI. The company says users can enter a simple text description, their preferred tone and video length, and the tool will take care of the rest. Although not specifically mentioned, Vimeo presumably uses existing text-based chatbot services such as ChatGPT.

The second feature is the teleprompter. Vimeo says users will be able to maintain “natural eye contact” on the “built-in display.” The company says users can also customize the font size and pace while recording.

Finally, Vimeo has a text-based video editor that can automatically remove ‘fillers’, long pauses and ‘awkward moments’ with just one click.

“AI in video pushes the boundaries of accessibility. Now any individual or business can create compelling, professional content in minutes, even with no production experience.” said Vimeo Chief Product Officer Ashraf Alkarmi.

“While this is just the beginning of our new integrated AI video strategy, we believe this launch will transform the way companies communicate and connect with distributed teams and customers. , has only scratched the surface of what AI can achieve for organizations and the people within them.We envision a future where AI knowledge is a prerequisite rather than a luxury for video production. We need to adapt now to help our teams create more efficiently or risk being left behind.”

Much of what Vimeo has to offer here is close to what is available from Riverside.fm, the platform PetaPixel currently uses to record its weekly podcasts. That said, Vimeo is leaning more toward AI-powered tools.

Vimeo’s new video creation suite will be available in July and will be included for users who subscribe to Vimeo’s Standard or Pro subscription plans. Feature demonstrations and how to test some features are available on Vimeo’s website.
