To verify the authenticity of the video clip, we divided the video clip into several keyframes. A reverse image search of one of these keyframes led me to this report published by The Hindu on October 28th. It shows Udhayanidhi Stalin sitting in front of a computer at the command and control center of the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) in Riponville, taking preparatory measures in preparation for Cyclone Monta, which affected parts of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha and Tamil Nadu in October this year.

ANI has also uploaded footage of Udhayanidhi’s visit to the GCC from October 28, where he can be seen using a computer and interacting with staff. Here you can clearly see that the computer screen is on when he is using it.

In the viral video, Udhayanidhi Stalin’s hand movements appear distorted, indicating that it may contain AI-generated content. Additionally, there is a camera flashgun that appears to be floating in the air.

We then sought corroborating media about Udhayanidhi Stalin’s visit to the command and control center to verify whether the computer screen was actually turned off during use, as claimed.

We found that Udhayanidhi Stalin himself posted on X about his October 28 GCC visit. In one of the attached photos, the computer screen he is sitting in front of is turned on.

We also ran the video through HIVE’s AI detection tool. According to this, 94.3% of the time, viral videos contain AI-generated material.

In conclusion, the video that claims to show Tamil Nadu Deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin working on a computer with the screen turned off is doctored.
