Vexcel brings aerial imagery and geospatial intelligence to an AI platform

Machine Learning

Vexcel Intelligence gives you AI eyes, making the world searchable for the first time

Access Vexcel imagery and geospatial data within MCP-compatible AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, and Gemini.

Vexcel announced the Vexcel Model Context Protocol (MCP), which enables direct access to Vexcel’s aerial imagery and geospatial data within ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, and other MCP-compatible AI platforms.

AI is rapidly changing the way organizations make decisions and get work done, but most AI tools don’t have access to real-world data in the field. Vexcel MCP bridges that gap, incorporating Vexcel imagery and geospatial data into the AI platforms your teams already use. Users can ask questions in natural language, combine multiple datasets, and get answers without switching between applications.

“More and more people are using AI to answer questions about the physical world, but without trusted context and data, AI can only guess,” said Steve Lombardi, Chief Product Officer at Vexcel. “Vexcel MCP incorporates our imagery and geospatial intelligence into AI workflows, so when someone asks a question about real estate, disaster areas, or transmission lines, the answer is based on real-world data.”

Analyzing real-world locations using AI is now easier and more accurate. As an example, Lombardi explained that someone could ask the AI assistant, “Which of these properties have a garden or greenhouse?” When Vexcel MCP is connected, the model uses the latest Vexcel aerial imagery to inspect each property and responds based on what it sees.

Data available through Vexcel MCP
Vexcel MCP provides access to Vexcel’s complete suite of imagery and geospatial data.

  • Ortho, oblique, and multispectral images
  • Digital Surface Model (DSM)
  • Attributes of real estate, buildings, and roads
  • Gray Sky disaster images and damage assessment
  • Embedding and semantic image search

Ask AI questions about the physical world
Users can now ask questions with their favorite AI systems and get real-world answers using Vexcel’s trusted imagery, geospatial data, semantic search, and spatial tools, including:

  • Please show me the latest ortho and oblique images for this address.
  • Find and measure cooling towers in this city and estimate their capacity.
  • Identify the top 25 properties in this zip code with poor roof conditions.
  • Look for encroaching vegetation along this propagation corridor.
  • We have summarized last week’s tornado damage in this city.

Vexcel MCP helps organizations such as insurance, government, utilities, infrastructure, and geospatial analytics teams understand real-world situations at scale with AI systems.

Built on the world’s largest aerial imagery program
Vexcel operates the world’s largest aerial imagery program, with ongoing acquisitions in more than 45 countries and territories.

Vexcel aerial imagery, published in 7.5cm and 15cm resolution, is more detailed and accurate than satellite imagery. Its imagery and data products are aligned to ground control points, timestamped, compliant with ASPRS accuracy standards, and optimized for AI workflows.

Combined with Vexcel’s historical library, organizations can explore, track, and compare locations over time.
