A special magistrate NIA/ATS court on Monday denied the bail applications of two terrorism suspects, Minaz Ahmad and Mashiruddin, who were arrested by the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) from their local residence in July 2021.
According to police, the two were in contact with Umar Harmandi, a named operative of AI Qaeda based in Afghanistan. (for representative)

Police recovered an improvised explosive device (IED) in the form of a pressure cooker bomb and a domestically produced 9mm handgun from Minaz Ahmad’s home. Additional Trial Judge Dinesh Kumar Mishra, who is also a special judge in the NIA/ATS Court, denied his bail application.
Minaz was arrested from his home in Dubagga and Masiludine from his home in Madion. Initially, Minaz was arrested, and later Masiluddin was arrested when Minaz revealed his name during an interrogation.
According to police, the two were in contact with Umar Harmandi, a named operative of AI Qaeda based in Afghanistan. On Umar’s orders, they were planning an explosion in the state. Following orders from the Union Department of the Interior, the National Investigative Agency (NIA) took over the investigation from UP ATS on July 28, 2021.
