Ultromics Obtains HCPCS Code for AI-Powered EchoGo Heart Failure Device

Newly issued HCPCS Code from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) addresses widespread adoption and use of the artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled EchoGo® heart failure device (Ultromics) to assist in the detection of ejection-preserved heart failure may facilitate reimbursement for Fraction (HFpEF).

According to CMS, clinicians can take advantage of the HCPCS code (C9786), effective July 1, 2023, for “computer-aided detection” of HFpEF based on echocardiographic imaging.1 Ultromics noted that the HCPCS code is designated for outpatient use of the EchoGo® heart failure device for Medicare beneficiaries.
