Uber I've acquired it segments.aiIt is a multi-sensor labeling platform for robotics and autonomous driving, the companies said in a separate LinkedIn post on Thursday (October 2).
Among them post, Uber AI SolutionsUber's AI Data Services business said the acquisition is part of its commitment to building LIDAR and multi-sensor data annotation capabilities. The company said it has been working in the field for nearly a decade to use labels of real data to drive breakthroughs in autonomy, safety and artificial intelligence.
“Segments.ai brings solid experience with Lidar annotation tools, deep domain expertise and an incredible foundation for clients,” the post says. “We're excited to work together [Segments.ai CEO and Founder Otto Debals and Founder Bert De Brabandere] And the whole team as we build a future together for Lidar Data Annotation. ”
Debals said in a post On LinkedIn, he, De Brabandere and the entire team will join Uber AI Solutions to continue building annotation tools for robotics and self-driving cars.
“We have supported great use cases, from self-driving cars and trucks to self-driving drones and tractors,” Debals said of Segments.ai, founded in 2020.
De Brabandere said in A post With LinkedIn, Uber AI Solutions can “help supercharge your data labeling team.”

Uber AI Solutions offers other business solutions that Uber has developed over the past decade data AI in AI's own operation.
The organization said in June it added a new solution to make it available to AI labs and businesses in 30 countries.
One solution is a platform that connects companies to global talent, including coding, finance, law, science and linguistics experts, capable of providing annotation, translation and editing for multilingual and multimodal content.
Uber AI Solutions also offers datasets that train large AI models for generated AI, mapping, speech recognition, and other use cases.
