Type O Negative are widely considered the definitive goth metal band, so it’s no surprise that World Goth Day (May 22nd) saw the release of a new AI-generated video for the group’s song “Halloween in Heaven.” .

Corinne Larre of Twisted Hooves Studio combined AI software to create the clip. One created the image and the other she converted it into a video sequence. Larre estimates it took thousands of renders to get the results seen in the final clip.
“The lyrics have allowed me to experiment a lot,” Lare said. “This eerie, kitsch world was born. I hope this is an homage to the band.” The real challenge was to integrate the legendary artist into this image. It’s hard to explain to AI the details that make it unique as a human. After all, there must have been hundreds, even thousands of iterations for this video.
