TrustNxt raises 1.6 million euro pre-seeds to fight AI-driven image and video manipulation

AI Video & Visuals

TrustNXT, a computer vision and cybersecurity spinoff from Basler AG, secures a seed funding of 1.6 million euros, expands deep technological solutions to protect images and video of security critical B2B applications from AI-driven operations and cyberattacks, protecting rapidly growing markets with key importance for industry, insurance and public safety.

TrustNXT is developing a software platform for comprehensive operational protection of visual data. Combines encryption, computer vision and patented trust technologies to ensure reliability of image and video data. This effectively prevents operation and provides reliability at every step. Solutions ensure the integrity of visual data in critical business processes.

Ariane Scheer-Danielsson, co-founder and managing director of TrustNxt:

In a world where AI can generate seemingly real images in seconds, trust and data integrity are extremely important. Without them, the digital business model is under threat. Our mission is to ensure this integrity for businesses.

TrustNxt's insurance solutions deal with manipulated damaged photos and allow for full automation of claims and underwriting processes without human reviews. Insurance companies can effectively prevent image fraud, reduce processing time, and make processes cost-effective and scalable.

The funding round saw participation from major early stage investors D11z.ventures and high-tech Gründerfonds (HTGF).

Patrick Schmitt, principal of D11Z.Ventures, commented:

We are excited about the encryption technology TrustNXT uses. Generates technically unique fingerprints of sensor data at the origin of the medium. It is irreparably linked to the medium – physical and tamper-proof evidence.

This prevents operation and proves the origin of the digital content without question. In the current race between AI-operated media and AI that recognize such operations, TrustNxt abolishes this duel. TrustNXT's technology will restore trust in digital media in the long term.

Tizian Hoppen, senior investment manager at HTGF, stressed that a functioning economy is essentially dependent on trust.

Today, key decisions are based on digital media such as photos and videos. TrustNXT was impressed with digital trust technology, which is based on years of deep technical research.

TrustNxt plans to expand its technology using capital to prevent tampering with video data, particularly in industrial applications. The first pilot project in the industry is planned for 2026.
