The data analytics industry is rapidly transforming as cloud integration, artificial intelligence, and machine learning revolutionize data management and business decision-making.
Businesses are increasingly moving their analytics operations to the cloud and benefiting from its scalability and cost efficiency. From improving the customer experience to optimizing internal workflows, real-world applications demonstrate the tangible impact of these advances. As businesses adopt these innovations, the demand for robust, community-driven platforms like those offered by Alteryx Inc. is more important than ever.
“People are storing data everywhere, especially unstructured data while doing RAG and other work,” says Managing Director and Principal Analyst at theCUBE Research. says Rob Strechay (pictured, right). “When they start building the workflows to get the data, and then how do they actually integrate the data… and how do these partners act? [they] The GSI, SI, and VAR communities really help bring that data to life. ”
Strechay spoke with fellow theCUBE analyst Rebecca Knight (left) from Alteryx Inspire during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media's livestreaming studio. They discussed how Alteryx's tools are being used to drive efficiency and innovation across a variety of industries, preparing them for a data-driven future. (*Disclosure below.)

Key insights from Alteryx Inspire
Alteryx's cloud platform has an extensive product line, best illustrated by how it connects with traditional designer tools on your laptop. Highlights of the event included detailed demonstrations of these new capabilities, particularly around AI and machine learning.
“Looking back, they have a really loyal following and a really big sense of community,” Strechay said. “There was a lot of discussion about how people are using this to get to AI and ML. It wasn't all about gen AI, but there were also a lot of announcements about gen AI.”
The integration of these technologies into cloud platforms was demonstrated through real-world applications, such as a use case presented by DoorDash Inc. His DoorDash's innovative application of Alteryx tools won the company an award, highlighting the practical benefits and increased efficiency of these technologies.
“They did a great job with the demo using DoorDash and showing how to capture and use this data in the use cases that were created,” Strechay said. “I think they saw later in the keynote that DoorDash actually won an award for using this.”
Real-world applications in data analysis and industry impact
According to Strechay, there was a clear emphasis on practical application of tools available in various industries. One growing trend is the migration of analytical processes to the cloud, which improves scalability and cost efficiency. Alteryx has demonstrated that cloud-based solutions streamline data management and analysis workflows, making it easier for businesses to derive actionable insights.
“I thought they were really attacking the cloud team…in a practical way, not an exaggeration,” he said.
One of the key messages was the importance of leveraging metadata in analysis. The ability to use SQL for metadata management instead of traditional on-premises solutions such as MongoDB was introduced as a major advance. This migration improves the efficiency of data analysis processes and improves data connectivity and integration across various platforms.
“You can actually use SQL to persist metadata. We know that metadata is the holy grail of analysis from an analytics perspective, but really… how do you tie everything together?” ,” Strechay said.
