Apple unveiled its long-awaited Vision Pro mixed reality headset on Monday, and CEO Tim Cook spoke about what the company calls spatial computing. ABC News.in an interview with Good morning, America Co-anchors Robin Roberts and Cook discuss issues ranging from Vision Pro to ChatGPT to the future of technology.

“Today, it’s tomorrow’s engineering. So you live in the future and you do it today,” Cook said of the technically superior hardware.
It’s often said that any form of virtual reality needs a “killer app” to make a VR product a reality. “It’s not about his one thing, it’s the platform,” Cook says when describing all of Vision Pro’s features.
However, Apple is also developing Vision Pro to be the ultimate augmented reality platform, so Vision Pro isn’t just for VR. Still, the challenge with using virtual reality is that it isolates you from the real reality around you.
In this regard, Cook says that not contributing to isolation was a “major design point” when creating Vision Pro. “This is not about isolation. This is about connecting. This is about having people out there who feel like they are with you.”
At a price of $3,499, Cook says, “This is the most advanced electronic gadget out there.” Roberts asked if Cook thought this would afford people.
“I don’t know. I think people are going to have different choices depending on their economic situation and so on. The engineering and the engineering depth is amazing. Each eye can experience more than 4K.” Of course, it’s not free, it costs money to do it, but I think it’s very worth it,” says Cook.
AI and ChatGPT
On the topic of artificial intelligence, Cook said the field has “huge potential” and that “premeditated ” and required ”thoughtful” development and deployment.
As for ChatGPT, he said “of course” he uses it and is “excited”, adding that the technology is being studied “closely” by Apple.
Finally, Roberts asked Cook about recent reports of customers having trouble withdrawing money from Apple’s new high-yield savings account.
“Goldman Sachs is very focused on this,” says Cook. “If you try to transfer funds to an account other than the one you deposited into your first savings account, you will be subject to more scrutiny because you will worry that someone will steal your money. A lot of energy goes into making it a great process.”
