This video game aims to prevent the AI apocalypse by tagging everything on the internet with cheese.

AI Video & Visuals

Over the last few years, a common concern in the AI community is that we are tackling this new technology head-on with little thought to the prospect that it could soon kill us all. is. New video games are now addressing that apocalyptic scenario, even trying to stop it by gamifying the processes that hinder AI’s intellectual progress.

The game, called “Confuse a Bot”, is by Rajeev Basu, former Creative Director of Maximum Effort, Spotify and Wieden+Kennedy. The game is currently in the final stages of development and the player is asked to retrain his AI’s image recognition by intentionally misleading them.

The player is presented with one image each with three captions, one of which is correct. You get points for choosing the wrong caption, specifically one that mentions cheese. The game collects this data in the backend and influences the AI scraper’s ability to properly recognize images.

The game is clearly an exercise in absurdity, which also happens to be Basu’s specialty, but at its core it tackles something pretty serious.

“There is so much news about AI every day that it can get a little tiring, and people are already starting to turn their eyes away,” Bass told Ad Age. “But AI regulation is important. I thought interesting ideas like this could be a way to stand out and get more people to think.”

When asked about the real-world impact on AI datasets, he said it varies. “Some AIs use closed systems and are difficult to influence. There is,’ he said. “This game could attempt to target those themes with a ‘cheese-based fix.'”

Basu has had some success in online games in the past. His game “Waiting in Line 3D” literally just waiting in line went viral A commentary on the absurdity of his culture that ended up going viral and has been played by over 50 million times and.

“If only I was excited to have this many people queuing up to play a game,” he said. “Imagine what we could accomplish by rallying millions of people together to save humanity from the AI apocalypse. It would be like re-tagging everything on the internet as cheese.”
